Wedding Hair and Makeup Prep
Making sure you are prepared for your bridal hair and makeup service is so important. Below are my suggestions for your pre-wedding beauty routine
Skincare Prep
Drink lots of water leading up to your wedding. Increasing water intake has a positive effect on the skin appearance and helps maintain hydration levels.
Regular facials leading up to the wedding is a good idea. Scheduling your final facial 2 weeks before your wedding day will allow your skin to recover from redness or breakouts that may occur.
I recommend getting your brows waxed, threaded, tinted or lifted 5 days before the wedding. This will allow the skin to settle if redness does occur. It will also give time for the brow tint to fade into your natural brow colour.
Apply sunscreen if you wear it. Some mineral sunscreen can be heavy/greasy and leave a white cast. Please keep this in mind (for long lasting makeup) that a non-mineral sunscreen is best under makeup.
If you have a moisturizer you love, please apply it at least 10 minutes before your service. I do provide full skin treatments for your service so this is not necessary. Please do not do too many skincare steps before I arrive as it may not always work with my makeup products.
You can make a homemade lip scrub and use it leading up to the wedding to help keep your lips soft and moisturized for the wedding. Try this recipe: 2 tbsp finely ground sugar. 1 tbsp olive oil. ½ tsp honey. 1-2 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Makeup Prep
Please arrive completely makeup free. Ensure all mascara is removed from your eyes with an oil-based makeup remover. Do not wear waterproof mascara the day before your wedding. It can be difficult to remove and clump into lashes.
If there are specific personal makeup products you would like to use, please bring them along with you.

Please apply contacts before your makeup service.
Hairstyling Prep
I always recommend showing up with clean hair. “Dirty” hair for styling is a myth. Hair that has leftover product from a blowout the day before is ok, but anything beyond some texturizer and light hairspray should be washed out, especially if you have fine hair. It is always better to trust your hairstylist will add the products they need for your hair to hold for the day.
Hair can be air dried or dried with a blow dryer. Blow dried hair tends to be much smoother if you use a proper blow drying technique . Please ensure your hair is fully dried before your service. For best results, leave hair down. Do not braid, tie up in a bun or pony tail as this will create crimps or texture in the hair.
Please do not put dry shampoo in your hair.
Please do not use any product in your hair except for a light mousse or hair oil (on the hair ends) for coarse or dry hair.
